The term roulette, originally meant "Little Wheel" in France. The truth is, most casinos use the roulette wheel as the symbol of fun and exciting gamble inside. This tool of luck appeared during the 17th century and made by Blaise Pascal.

Obviously, the name Blaise Pascal rings a bell, as most of his discoveries and inventions are still in classrooms, science events, and the like. Nonetheless, his invention of roulette wheel changed the face of gambling. Surprisingly, the roulette wheel is a by-product from his studies on perpetual motion. In most of his time studying perpetual motion, he would spin the roulette wheel while placing a small ball on the other side. Initially, the roulette wheel comprised of thirty-six pockets with printed numbers on them. In each pocket with printed number, the small ball would land as the number depicting triumph.

After Pascals invention of the wheel, the next breakthrough on roulette came after two centuries. During the mid-19th century, the Blanc Brothers, has added the zero entity on the wheel. Louis and Francois Blanc placed this number to challenge many of roulette's advocates. There is a tale from some gamblers that entails the deal of Blanc brothers with the devil. This entitled them to the discovery of roulette's mystery. In addition, the tale exhibits the summation of the numbers, which are zero to thirty-six becomes the triple six. The triple six embodies the beast devil sign. Hence, when the player becomes victorious in playing the roulette, he defeats the beast devil.

During the Blanc brothers' amendment on the wheel of roulette, which was placing zero, France already forbade gambling in its premises. Nevertheless, the wheel's popularity did not ended but explored other countries in Europe. When France made a decision to legalize gambling later in 19th century, one of the Blanc brothers became part on one of the Monte Carlo openings of casino. The casino owner utilized the roulette wheel, as the main game for the establishment, which led to roulette's role as casino protagonist. This made roulette wheel being the favorite symbol for casinos. At present, many gamblers have recognized roulette being the "Leader in Casino Leisure" because of its high fame among casinos in Monte Carlo. Most of casino's components traveled outside Europe due to France's decision in legalizing gambling. This action resulted in the arrival of roulette in America. There, most of the casino houses and sites became very tedious in making profit for their own. This keen expression on making money with gambling had introduced the two zero placement on the roulette wheel. This wheel then became the American Roulette. On the other hand, European gamblers did not want to play American roulette due to its two zero placements. With this dislike, the establishment of European wheel happened along with its sustenance of one zero.
